Emiliano López y Mónica Rivera

ROOMSERVICE DESIGN presents an exhibition of the furniture designed by architects Emiliano Lopez (1971) and Monica Rivera (1972) for the Hotel Aire de Bardenas. After studying together the Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, they began their career path in Barcelona locating their studio in the Raval neighborhood. In 2004 they received the commission of the hotel, a light and detachable project, associated with agricultural constructions, which manages to bring the visitor closer to the rural character and the beauty of the austere surrounding landscape. Their furniture is made up of versatile pieces yet anonymous, basic, almost standard, which have been made using the same materials of the construction of the hotel. The architects have given a constructive and a conceptual response for a unique project, putting emphasis in the discreet intervention in the environment.
