Dutch designer MAARTEN BAAS (1978) presents pieces from his 'Clay' collection. Each piece is unique and made by hand out of synthetic clay. These experimental and playful pieces demonstrate his ability to successfully break the rules of design. Baas models, signs and numerates in Eindhoven every piece of limited edition.
Maarten Baas graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2002. His academic degree was awarded for its innovative and provocative character. His work has been exhibited in the Design Museum in London, the Groninger Museum in Holland, the International Salon of Milan and Cibone of Tokyo amongst others. He has been awarded by the Design Miami/ as best designer of the year 2009. At only 31 years of age, Maarten Baas is a striking young designer who has imacted the world of design; has proven his extraordinary ability to generate new ideas, experimenting with new materials and inventing new processes of design.
Built using waste from a furniture factory. Since they reproduce their furniture, they also reproduce the same kinds of waste. There is enough waste to produce 58 'dining chairs'. This makes the 'Treasure' series a limited edition.
